Journalists to blame, not PRs

When journalists and PR figures start questioning one another’s integrity you know things are going to get fiery. And this week's debate - hosted join...

Following the launch of the Media Standards Trust, up until the website relaunch in January 2008, the online debates asked topical questions about the news – its accuracy, fairness, context, sourcing and ethics. The questions were meant to provoke public debate about news standards – to draw attention to the good stuff and expose the bad.

The debates were designed to inform both current and future media practice. Our hope is they will become case studies that can be referenced when similar situations arise in the future. When discussing issues of privacy and public interest, for example, people can to refer back to the debate about the Mail on Sunday and Lord Browne. Debates are filed by subject area.
