Summary review of 7 month investigation into use of premium rate interactive services in ITV programming.
Review covers more than 60 ITV series and finds 'serious or concerning issues' in three programmes: Soapstar Superstar, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and Ant & Dec's Gameshow Marathon.
Deloitte found three main problems with the use of interactive services:
- 'programme producers, staff and supporting companies have not always recognised or had a respect for the impact of their actions... on the integrity of the interactive event'
- there was a 'lack of agreed and consistently applied processes, controls, and ways of working'
- Supporting technology lacked 'reliability and resilience'
